Biggest blast yet
I think we have a record number of recent arrivals with this week's e-Blast... over 85 items to peruse!! We'll see if we can top this number next week.
We have some news about a few upcoming events. First off, we're already getting lots of questions about the 2010 Steel City Big Pour. Folks want to kow when it is and when tickets go on sale. just so you know... the Big Pour is always held on the second Saturday of Septembeer. So this year's 'Big Pour Four' will be on Saturday, September 11th. Tickets go on sale August 2nd and we recommend you get 'em as quickly as you can. last year, the event sold out in a matter of days.
If only one annual craft brewing festival a year isn't enough for you then you ought to attend the 1st Annual Big Tap In scheduled for Saturday, April 24th from 12pm to 2pm for the VIP session and 2:30pm to 6pm for the general session. The Big Tap In is the biggest craft beer festival between Pittsburgh and Cleveland and is being organized by Vintage Estate Wine and Beer to promote great craft beer and to raise money for HandsOn Volunteer Network of the Valley. Vintage Estate Wine and Beer also sponsor our Steel City Big Pour. The Big Tap In will include craft beers from 30 - 40 breweries, many of the area's best food vendors, and great entertainment. VIP session tickets are $60 and general session tickets are $40. The event will be held at The Shepherd Event Center, 7469 South Avenue, Boardman, Ohio. Purchase tickets online at www.bigtapin.com, at Vintage Estate Wine and Beer (cash only please), 7317 South Avenue, Boardman, Ohio, or call HandsOn Volunteer Network at 330-782-5877.
And lastly, please save the date for Friday, April 2nd for the Geek Art/Green Innovators (GA/GI) Festival. Creative Reuse Pittsburgh will be joining Global Links, Urban Tree Forge, Find the Rivers and other green initiatives as part of a day-long celebration of art, technology and ecology. Staged in two time slots, GA/GI Day for kids and GA/GI Night for everyone, the event will showcase solar inventions, robotics, art installations and exhibits, eco trepidation solutions, a science mobile, hands-on art projects, an eco-tech fashion show and more! GA/GI Day for kids happens from 10am to Noon at the Union Project and GA/GI Night begins at 5pm at 113 N. Pacific and Penn continues all along the 4800 - 5500 blocks of Penn Ave through 11pm.
