Happy Earth Day
Happy Earth Day Pittsburgh!
In honor of Earth Day we've updated our News & Events page with many of the great "reuse/recycle" focused events happening across the city next week. Put all of these vents together and you'll pretty much have an opportunity to recyle your entire life!!
Here's a brief run down of what's happening:
- Hampton Township's Recycle Rama (CJ will be there)
- ReSOLUTION at Fifth Avenue Place
- Soles 4 Souls at Monroeville Mall
- Western PA Gardening & Landscaping Symposium at Chatham University
- PPG's Party for the Planet at the Pittsburgh Zoo
In addition to these events, Construction Junction, in collaboration with the Audubon Society of Western Pennsylvania and their Center for Native Plants at Beechwood Farms Nature Reserve, will be holding a class on native plants on Saturday, April 17th from 11am to 1pm and a Rain Gardens Class on Saturday, April 24th, also from 11am to 1pm.
The CJ Buzz
We're very excited to announce, for our April customer reward and in celebration of Earth Day, the return of the much loved Litterbug Bobbleheads. During the month of April, staff will be hiding 10 Litterbug Bobbleheads throughout CJ’s retail space. Track down a Bobblehead, bring it to CJ’s cashier when you’re ready to check out and get 20% off your purchase. Our Litterbug Bobbleheads have been given to us courtesy of Pennysylvania Resources Council (PRC).
The Litterbug Bobbleheads could be hiding in drawers, cabinets, display cases or behind items. We're going to get creative! We do promise however that all Litterbugs... ten each day for the entire month, will be accessible and within easy reach. The earlier you arrive... the greater your chances of finding a Litterbug and saving 20% off your purchase.
Remember, Litterbug Bobbleheads will be escaping onto CJ’s sales floor throughout the month of April. Have fun hunting!

Native Plant Class
Construction Junction, in collaboration with the Audubon Society of Western Pennsylvania and their Center for Native Plants at Beechwood Farms Nature Reserve, will be holding a class on native plants on Saturday, April 17th from 11am to 1pm.
Audubon will be presenting a program emphasizing the ecological importance and homeowner benefits of using native plants in the residential landscape. We will highlight 10 native plant species that homeowners can use to create an urban oasis and support our local plant heritage.
In addition to this program, CJ will begin offering these plants for sale on or around May 1st.
CJ Q&A
Last year, CJ had plants for sale. Will you be doing this again and when will they be arriving? -- Happy Gardener in Pittsburgh
Dear Happy Gardener in Pittsburgh -- We will and we're planning on bringing in a variety of plants in early May -- Cozmo
Cozmo’s Message of the Week
Customers are having a great time finding and saving 20% with our Litterbug Bobblehead hunt. We're having a great time too. The only folks not having fun might be the Bobbleheads themselves because they're breaking left and right. We'd replace the broken fellows but our stock is waning. So just to be clear... a decapitated Bobblehead is as good as a whole Bobblehead in our eyes and in terms of you receiving your discount.
