Racing for the Cure
Bonnie Rolison has been enthusiastically securing a non-stop river of donations for Construction Junction ever since our doors first opened back in November, 1999. Her dedication and contributions to the success of our organization are truly immeasurable.
Now it is time for all of us to reverse the river and send our support and contributions back to Bonnie who was recently diagnosed with breast cancer.
Family, friends and co-workers will be walking in support of Bonnie on Sunday, May 9th in the Komen Pittsburgh Race for the Cure. Additionally, on that day, Construction Junction will donate 20% of all sales to the Susan G, Komen Foundation. It is not unusual for our store to break $4,000 in sales on a busy Sunday so we're hoping to be able to make a donation of $1,000 or more.
Also on that day, you can save 20% off any pair of jeans at the Pittsburgh Jeans Company with proof of your participation in the Race. In addition to you saving money, the Pittsburgh Jeans Company will donate 20% of their sales on May 9th to the Foundation.
And being the person that she is... Bonnie has set up a fundraising effort of her own at the Susan G. Komen Foundation called Bonnie's Bridgade. You can support Bonnie too. Go to the Bonnie's Bridgade webpage and make a donation in support of Bonnie and/or register for the Race as a member of Bonnie's team.
To date Bonnie has raised over $2,800.
The CJ Buzz
Things just got a whole lot greener at Construction Junction and we're talking about the photosynthesis kind of green. In the photo to the right you can see Shannon, Alex and Joe organizing and pricing a wide variety of native plants we just received from the Audubon's Native Plant Center at Beechwood Farms Nature Reserve.
In addition to the list of natives below... CJ will also have heirloom tomatoes, sweet bell peppers, sweet ethnic peppers, hot peppers, basil, broccoli, cabbage and a few various herbs for sale starting Saturday, May 1st. We're excited to be making these plants, along with some great organic gardening supplies, available to you this spring season and hope this is something we can continue to do in future years.

CJ Q&A
Hi. Do you have any cheap, 37"- 65" TV's that could be rented out for a couple of weeks? -- Michael
Michael -- Interestingly enough, we get this question often. Although Construction Junction does accept old TVs for recycling, we really are only a conduit for another organization that handles all of the e-waste brought to us. That organization is eLoop LLC and more information can be found on their website at www.eloopllc.com.
Cozmo’s Message of the Week
Well our Litterbug Bobblehead promotion is now over. Despite how much our customers love the Bobbles, we're not sure we'll be able to do this promotion again because our Bobbleheads really really took a beating and what we're left with now are just pieces and parts of Bobbleheads. We're open to hiding other creatures... so who knows what will be next.
