Open the floodgates
Every once in awhile, Construction Junction gets a large donation that saturates us and our customers with one particular type of item. We recently experienced this phenomenon and currently have on hand more black chalkboards then we think all of Pittsburgh could ever possibly want or use.
So we got creative and for the first time ever... we're adding our own special touch and re-manufacturing the large black chalkboards into smaller "household" sized mini-chalkboards. This idea was the brainchild of Walt Gorr who has been steadily working in our back forty churning out our very own mini-chalkboard works of art.
The chalkboards are made from thick pieces of black slate and salvaged douglas fir. Prices range from $50 to $65 and each one is slightly different form the other. One even has little pegs to hang your keys. We're working on Walt to make some with little places to hold chalk. One hundred years from now these could be invaluable collectors items! The chalkboards are located in the Antiquities section.
Thanks Walt for your beautiful work.
The CJ Buzz
The "open the floodgates' in the above subject line refers to this week's buzz because we have some very large donations arriving and on the horizon.
For example, we have received 268 brand new "sample" windows. They're on the smaller size because they were used as samples, but they'd be perfect for bathrooms, sheds, garages, basements and kitchens. They're in every style imaginable and made by an array of manufacturers. They're very, very nice windows and even though each one is slightly different, we're going to price them all the same at $30 each.
In addition, this donation also included 9 large aluminum three-panel sliding windows and 25 steel and fiberglass doors, some with glass panels and some without. These windows and doors will be making their way to the sales floor over the next week or two.
And last but not least, we just got a new shipment of native plants, heirloom tomatoes and sweet and hot peppers. Two new native varieties include Bottle Gentian and Virginia Bluebells.
Varieties of heirloom tomatoes include: Giant Belgium, Marianna's Peace, Chianti Rose, Pruden's Purple, Caspian Pink, Rose, Supersonic, Celebrity, Jet Star, Costaluto Genovese, Illini Star, Peron Sprayless, Ann's Ox, Sioux, Amish Paste, Roma, Powers Heirloom, Yellow Brandywine, Egg Yolk, Goldie, Aunt Ruby's German Green, Green Zebra, Pineapple, Gold Medal, Sungold, Snow White, Isis Candy, Aunt Ruby's German Cherry and Sweet Olive.
