Word Up
As the number of subscribers for this weekly e-Blast increases so do the requests from other organizations for us to post information about their events, classes, fund drives, etc.
We can't get to most of them but there two requests we always comply with and that is anything having to do with the Pennsylvania Resources Council since they "birthed" Construction Junction and anything having to do with beer since our big annual fundraiser is the Steel City Big Pour, a craft brewing festival.
We take just three things very seriously here at CJ... our mother, our reuse and our beer. What could be a better creed to live by? So here we go...

The CJ Buzz
We have oodles and oodles of tile in our 'Back Forty' storage area that needs to be processed and we've been making an effort to work our way through it all.
The net effect of that effort is that we have oodles and oodles of tile on the sales floor.
Go figure.

Inaugural Think Green Event
June 10, 2010Presented by the Allegheny County Bar Association (ACBA) Environmental Law Section to benefit the ACBA Environmental Law Section Scholarship Fund.
The ACBA Environmental Law Section is proud to present its Inaugural Think Green Event fundraiser aboard the RiverQuest Explorer. This event will generate support for the ACBF Environmental Law Section Scholarship Fund established this year in the Allegheny County Bar Foundation by the Section. The Scholarship Fund will provide two annual scholarships to deserving students at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law and Duquesne University School of Law who have demonstrated an interest in and a commitment to the practice of environmental law.
Guests will embark on a cruise of Pittsburgh's three rivers on the RiverQuest Explorer, one of the world's first "green" vessels. Palate Partners will provide six wine tasting offerings to guests while sailing. As the Explorer sails, a portion of guests' river journey will include narration by Davitt Woodwell, Vice President of the Pennsylvania Environmental Council.
Tickets are $75.00. $40 of each ticket is a tax deductible donation to the Allegheny County Bar Foundation. For a ticket form, click here. You may also purchase tickets online by clicking here. The Explorer is docked on the Ohio River adjacent to the submarine at the Carnegie Science Center. For directions, please click here.
