Easier e-waste recycling
For the past few years, Construction Junction has been partnering with eLoop llc to provide e-waste recycling services in our retail store and to our customer base.
eLoop llc is very happy to report (as are we) that, due to greater business efficiencies and economies of scale, they can now eliminate the fee to recycle desktop and laptop computers. Fees still apply for other e-waste items but this is great news! Please click here for an updated list of e-waste recycling fees.
eLoop llc is an IT sustainability company whose goal is to protect reputational and compliance risk by providing effective data destruction services and promote sustainability through the proper reuse or recycling of IT assets. In addition to organizational clients, these services are also available to the community through private and publicly sponsored community collection events and conveniently located permanent collection sites of which CJ is one.
Assets that no longer function or are below a usable technology threshold are permanently destroyed, and commodity grade materials are reclaimed. eLoop llc is a PA DEP permitted demanufacturing facility that can provide a transparent chain of custody from the time they take possession, through the demanufacturing process, to the downstream vendors that trade the commodities. They are a pledged e-Steward with the Basel Action Network and comply with the Recycling Industry Operating Standards (RIOS) as outlined by the Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries. Certificates of recycling are issued to demonstrate that assets have been properly disposed of and recycled. All downstream vendors are subject to random audits for process compliance.
- Landfill avoidance of 98% of all material
- Nothing is processed by Prison Labor
- No untested / non-working electronic equipment is exported to developing countries
- All reclaimed commodity grade materials are resold
2% Landfill 0% Prison Labor 0% Offshore Dumping

June 10, 2010Presented by the Allegheny County Bar Association (ACBA) Environmental Law Section to benefit the ACBA Environmental Law Section Scholarship Fund.
The ACBA Environmental Law Section is proud to present its Inaugural Think Green Event fundraiser aboard the RiverQuest Explorer. This event will generate support for the ACBF Environmental Law Section Scholarship Fund established this year in the Allegheny County Bar Foundation by the Section. The Scholarship Fund will provide two annual scholarships to deserving students at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law and Duquesne University School of Law who have demonstrated an interest in and a commitment to the practice of environmental law.
Guests will embark on a cruise of Pittsburgh's three rivers on the RiverQuest Explorer, one of the world's first "green" vessels. Palate Partners will provide six wine tasting offerings to guests while sailing. As the Explorer sails, a portion of guests' river journey will include narration by Davitt Woodwell, Vice President of the Pennsylvania Environmental Council.
Tickets are $75.00. $40 of each ticket is a tax deductible donation to the Allegheny County Bar Foundation. For a ticket form, click here. You may also purchase tickets online by clicking here. The Explorer is docked on the Ohio River adjacent to the submarine at the Carnegie Science Center. For directions, please click here.
