News from Free Ride

Free Ride is Pittsburgh's DIY (do-it-yourself) bike collective and happens to be located in Construction Junction's facility.

Free Ride is not a traditional repair shop, where you drop off a bike and someone fixes it, but a bicycle educational facility. There is that old saying “if you give a person a fish they will eat for one day but if you teach them how to fish they will eat for a lifetime.” That is our basic philosophy at Free Ride!

Free Ride will be taking a much-needed break this winter! Our LAST OPEN SHOP will be Saturday, November 20th, and our last VOLUNTEER NIGHT, or rather PRE-WINTER CLEAN-UP NIGHT will be Tuesday, November 23rd! We’ll let you know when we’ll be opening again in the spring.

Next week we have five kitchen sets coming in. Three have 14 cabinets each and the other two are larger sets as well.

Our pick up truck is also open towards the end of next week... December 2nd and 3rd. If you've been meaning to call and schedule us to come and pick up a large donation you may have... now would be a good time.
