Pittsburgh Tote Bag Project

Construction Junction is supporting The Pittsburgh Tote Bag Project by providing a permanent drop site location for tote bags.  What is The Pittsburgh Tote Bag Project you ask...

In partnership with the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank, The Pittsburgh Tote Bag Project is collecting new and gently used tote bags to distribute to clients of food pantries in the region.  Visit www.tote4pgh.com for a list of all drop-off locations where you can donate your personal bags.

Your donation will:

  • Strengthen food security by ensuring people can transport large or bulky items (like bottles of juice or produce) in a manner that is dignified and practical.
  • Reduce the use of disposable plastic and paper bags.
  • Support the more than 120,000 individuals served by the region's food pantries each month.

The Big Remake
June 25, 2011

Pittsburgh Center for Creative Reuse is having a party (The Big Remake) to celebrate and raise funds for their move to their new space right next door to Construction Junction -- same building and address, but separate entrance on N. Lexington.

Party activities will span 12 hours and include family fun in the day, an event for grownups in the evening, and a dance party at night.  Additional activities include an Upcycled Art Auction, Affordable Art sale, Remade Fashion Parade, Make & Take activities, local art vendors, hooping, music, food and drink.

Creative Reuse Pittsburgh is now the Pittsburgh Center for Creative Reuse and their larger, more accessible space will allow for a larger retail floor, workshop space, easy drop-off for donations, the ability to accept more and larger donations, and room for volunteers.

Come celebrate and help them raise funds for the transition.  Tickets are available at their current location in CJ, online at BigRemake.eventbrite.com, or at the door.  Click here for a downloadable flyer for more info and to help spread the word.
