If trees could talk
Tree Pittsburgh and their partners are currently developing an Urban Forest Master Plan for the city of Pittsburgh. An urban forest master plan is a road map, providing detailed information, recommendations, and resources needed to effectively and proactively manage and grow our urban forest. More importantly it describes a shared vision for the future of the urban forest to inspire and engage residents, business owners, elected officials and organizations in the care and protection of trees.
One of the most important components of an Urban Forest Master plan is public involvement and input. We need to hear from as many people as possible [including you and your friends and neighbors and relatives and coworkers] to protect and maintain our trees for generations to come.
Be a part of the plan – Tell Tree Pittsburgh Your Tree Story. You could win a gift card from Giant Eagle.
Tree Pittsburgh's goal is to connect with everyone in Pittsburgh, but we can’t do it alone. Please help spread the word to your friends, neighbors and coworkers. Tell them about this site and encourage them to share their ideas and tree stories. The more people who know about this effort, the better chance we have of protecting one of Pittsburgh’s greatest assets for future generations.

Bee Curious and Help the Bees in the Burgh
January 14, 2012Master Beekeeper, Joe Zgurzynski, of Burgh Bees will discuss basic honey bee biology and beekeeping techniques, as well as how to make your garden bee friendly.
