CJ in the movies!

We received a letter from ONE SHOT movie staff thanking us for helping make their movie a success (click the picture to see it).  Like everyone, we appreciate being appreciated.

It's fun that Pittsburgh has become such a popular place to film movies and even more fun, at least for us, that Construction Junction has become such a popular place for set designers to find the perfect props.

Set designers are a blast to work with.  We love their creativity.  While they typically come in with a laundry list of needed items, CJ always proves to be a treasure trove of idea producing options with purchased items often getting repurposed or refurbished as needed.  When filming is over, unless items get auctioned off, it's not uncommon for them to be donated back to CJ.

Here's a snapshop of some recent movies with 'CJ props'.

  • Sorority Row - 2009
  • The Road - 2009
  • Unstoppable - 2010
  • The Next Three Days - 2010
  • Love and Other Drugs - 2010
  • Abduction - 2011
  • One for the Money - 2012
The CJ Buzz

The river of salvage and used goods flowing into CJ is very wide these days.  Here's what's floating our way...  new laminate flooring, six kitchen sets, fifteen very large windows (6' x 6'), lots of doors (both interior and exterior), two built-in cabinets, fourteen mannequins (all men), lots of random furniture (chairs, dining room tables, coffee tables, end tables), office furniture (file cabinets, desks) and assorted new kitchen cabinets.
