Here at CJ we are always on the lookout for opportunities to engage with the community; we go to recycling events and festivals and we offer classes and workshops at low cost. One of the most important programs we participate in is the Goodwill Southwestern Pennsylvania job training program. We have a training site in our warehouse, complete with a Goodwill Green Career Facilitator working one on one as a Job Coach assisting 2 program participants. In a typical day the trainees process doors by removing the hardware or band tile for the sales floor. They also work to keep the warehouse organized and running smoothly as they gain new skills and interests.
To continue our successful job training partnership with Goodwill, CJ will be unveiling a new program we are calling Bucket O’ Reuse. The Bucket O’ Reuse is a 5 gallon work bucket that can be purchased at CJ for the rock bottom low price of $1! Your part in this campaign is to purchase the bucket, take it home, fill it up with useable hardware and bring it back to CJ (you can also use the bucket when you shop)! Sorting, cleaning and stocking the hardware will become a new responsibility of the Goodwill job training participants. Look for the buckets to appear on the sales floor in about two weeks. You’ll recognize them from their unmistakable bucket-like appearance and super cool vintage label. Thank you in advance for supporting reuse and the job opportunities it creates!
