Spooky Reuse!
Fall is in the air! The leaves are turning, pumpkin flavor is popping up all over town and our friends at Goodwill of Southwestern Pennsylvania are running a Goodwill Halloween Costume Photo Contest! Goodwill is asking people to create Halloween costumes with items from their stores! You can submit photos of your costumes here until October 25th; just let them know which local Goodwill you purchased supplies from! Photos will be posted in an album on Goodwill’s Facebook page and viewers will be able to vote for their favorite costume by ‘liking’ the photo! This contest is open to everyone – shoppers, clients and even Goodwill staff…be sure to keep your eyes open for CJ staff submittals!
Voting runs through October 30th and the winners will be announced on October 31st through the Goodwill Facebook page! PNC Bank has generously agreed to sponsor the contest and have supplied prizes for first, second and third place and the Goodwill store that produces the greatest number of costume entries will also receive a prize!
Keep an eye out for the Green Building Alliance’s yearly fundraiser HallowGreen which takes place at the Carnegie Museum of Natural History! Part of the evening's proceeds will support the Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy in its efforts to rebuild the Frick Environmental Center.
