Unleash your inner donor
Once again we're up to no good and have taken our Executive Director, Mike Gable, hostage. We'll unroll him from his carpet restraint when Pittsburgh answers his plea for more donations ASAP. Ask at work if there are any used building materials that could be donated to CJ. Talk to your friends, your contractor, your parents, children, sisters and brothers. Spread the word about Construction Junction and our important function to keep perfectly good stuff out of the landfill.
Thanks a whole bunch!
The CJ Buzz
We now have samples out on the floor for those single panel commercial mahogany doors we told you about in last week's e-Blast. They come from a fancy schmancy law firm in downtown Pittsburgh. Here are some details...
- Doors are oversized at 36" wide x 90" high
- Frame is solid mahogany, panel in mahogany veneer
- Have both left and right swings available
- Have a limited number of solid mahogany split jambs available
- Knob sets (w/mortise) are polished chrome pass through lever style made by Sargent
- Hinges are 4" polished chrome with ball bearings (three per door) made by McKinney
Components can be purchased individually or as a set. Doors are $125, knob sets are $50, hinges are $30 for three, and jambs are $20. Full sets are $200 (save $25). Retail, at today's prices, for this package would be over $700.

Don't trash that TV recycling event!
February 21, 2009On Saturday, February 21st, from 10:00 am - 2:00 pm, drop off your old television at Construction Junction for recycling and keep it out of the landfill.
Televisions will also be accepted at the City of Pittsburgh Environmental Services Facility, 3001 Railroad Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15201 (in the Strip District).
This day only in CJ's parking lot... take advantage of reduced TV recycling rates due to a generous grant from Waste Management that will offset some of the recycling cost to the public. All other e-waste should be brought inside for recycling.
Brought to you by the Pennsylvania Resources Council (PRC) with support from Waste Management and the City of Pittsburgh.
