Some fun things
Some weeks are more exciting than others. This is one of those weeks. We've got a church pulpit, lots of really nice 2 x 4's that came from an installation at the Carnegie Museum of Art, and a custom made table that once belonged to a US Steel executive. We also have a number of really good things in the pipeline so be sure to check out the CJ Buzz below.
The photo on the right highlights February sales. In case you didn't know... merchandise at CJ gets discounted by 10% increments for each month it remains on inventory. So whenever you're shopping be sure to look for the month on the item's price tag. Any month prior to the current month equates to the discounts as pictured in the photo on the right.
As we went around to take photos for this week's Blast we came across a number of fun photo ops. You can click on the thumbnails to enlarge the pictures. No one seems to know where the four Iron City beer cans, comemorating the 1975 Steelers Super Bowl victory, came from, but they have to be collector items. The middle picture shows an old hold tag. After looking at this photo, it becomes instantly obvious why we elimnated the hold item option. The photo on the right is of our very own CJ Chef Bill. Looks like he thinks this big light bulb type of fixture will help him generate some new ideas.
The CJ Buzz
Currently in the pipeline... brand new doors in frames, brand new windows, pallets of misc. hardware from a contractor's garage, approx. 50 - 75 retail gondola-type fixtures, misc. items from another contrator's garage and ipe. Ipe is a really nice wood from Brazil, very hard, durable and beautiful. The Ipe wood is "in the house" and we're processing it and moving it out to the sales floor as we speak.

Don't trash that TV recycling event!
February 21, 2009On Saturday, February 21st, from 10:00 am - 2:00 pm, drop off your old television at Construction Junction for recycling and keep it out of the landfill.
Televisions will also be accepted at the City of Pittsburgh Environmental Services Facility, 3001 Railroad Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15201 (in the Strip District).
This day only in CJ's parking lot... take advantage of reduced TV recycling rates due to a generous grant from Waste Management that will offset some of the recycling cost to the public. All other e-waste should be brought inside for recycling.
Brought to you by the Pennsylvania Resources Council (PRC) with support from Waste Management and the City of Pittsburgh.
