Our new truck!!

Construction Junction has received our new 24' box truck and we couldn't be more excited.  It is quite an improvement over our old truck which has close to 200,000 miles on it.  Plus... now we have a driving advertisement for our mission.  We hope to be running it on biodiesel soon.

We especially would like to thank Dean Young and Hunter Truck Sales.  Dean and the Hunter company were a real pleasure to work with.  We'd also like to thank one of our Board Members, Tom Gillen (of Allegheny Millwork), who recommended Hunter Truck Sales to us.  And last but certainly not least...  do you see those blank rectangles on the sides of the truck?  Your advertisement could be there.  Call Bonnie Rolison, our Donation/PR Manager, at 412-243-5025 x12 if you're interested.  Our truck is out driving around southwestern Pennsylvania five days a week, fifty-two weeks a year.

The CJ Buzz

Don't forget that on Saturday, March 7th CJ will host a unique one day event.  On that day the Play it Forward musical instrument donation and re-use project will hold its initial collection in our facility.

Play it Forward is a pilot project to determine the best means of matching up gently-used instruments with budding young musicians who may not otherwise have the opportunity to own an instrument.  From noon to 4pm, anyone can drop off a used musical instrument.  All portable working-order instruments will be accepted (keyboards are welcome, but not full-size pianos).  Donors are encouraged to provide a case or container for their instrument if possible.  All donations are tax deductible and CJ will provide donation receipts.  Learn more in our previous e-Blast... Musical Instrument Re-use Pilot.

CJ Q&A

I have a chest freezer that is VERY old and does not work.  Will you accept that as a freon appliance to be dropped off?  Thank you.  -- Chris

Chris --  If your appliance works then we'll accept it and resell it if we can.  If your appliance doesn't work or we can't resell it and contains freon then we'll accept it, but will charge you a $10 (plus tax) freon disposal fee.  If your appliance doesn't work, doesn't contain freon and is primarily made of metal, then we'll let you throw it in our scrap metal dumpster so the metals will get recycled.  Hope this answers your question and doesn't make your head spin too badly.  -- Cozmo
