CJ wins award
To celebrate the leaders who have helped transform our region into a more sustainable place to live and work, the Green Building Alliance (GBA) presented their 2009 Shades of Green Leadership Awards at the recent GBA GreenSense conference. Construction Junction was selected as the awardee in the non-profit category. The beautiful awards (as displayed by our Executive Director, Mike Gable) are fabricated locally with green building materials and right up CJ's alley. Each piece is comprised of Marmoleum, a natural linoleum flooring product; etched, cobalt-colored glass; and plyboo, a bamboo plywood finished with natural beeswax.
GBA's Shades of Green Leadership Awards highlight the efforts of distinctive people in Western Pennsylvania who have contributed to the region's environmental transformation through:
- Vision - "big picture' and long-term thinking
- Leadership - ability to motivate and inspire others
- Innovation - advances new strategies and technologies
- Collaboration - works with others to acheive success
- Influence - effects broad-based change
Others award winners included: Stetson Convention Services (Business), City of Warren (Government), Vivian Loftness, FAIA (Community Leader - Pittsburgh), Alexander Graziani, AICP (Community Leader - Laurel Highlands), and Dr. Kenneth Borland, Ph.D. (Community Leader - Northwest PA).
CJ would like to thank the Green Building Alliance for this award. We are truly honored to be recognized amongst such a talented pool of awardees.
