CJ adding 2nd cash register

We know that Construction Junction gets fairly busy and that the line to check out gets a little backed up.  We also know that this can put a damper on what, otherwise, is a very fun shopping experience so... we've decided to add a second cash register.  This second cash register area will also serve as our new customer service desk which is under construction as we speak.  At our new customer service desk, staff will be able to process sales, accept returns, handle store pick ups and answer questions.

On a totally unrelated note, we'd like to tell you about an event that we're excited about and will be participating in.  In celebration of Earth Day, the Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium is holding their first ever Party for the Planet & Green Marketplace on Saturday, April 18, 2009 and Construction Junction will be participating.  We think this'll be a great event featuring local companies that offer eco-friendly clothing, jewelry, home & garden products, art, make-up and many other products.  You'll also be able to learn how to save money on your utility bills, sample all-natural foods, and find out how your entire family can reduce its carbon footprint.

Kids can participate in the Recycling Olympics, make a reusable craft, touch animal bio-facts, and meet the Litter Bug mascot.  All activities are from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m., and are free with general admission.

Party for the Planet is sponsored by PPG Industries, the Pennsylvania Resources Council, and Disneynature’s EARTH, in theaters April 22nd.

The CJ Buzz

These wall divider cabinets with granite counters just arrived and are a hint of more to come in a few weeks.  Plus we're getting some cafe equipment including a cooler with glass doors, two hot bar buffets, an ice dispenser (doesn't make ice - just dispenses it), a coffee warming station, a sandwich making stainless steel table, and a small ice cream cooler.

CJ Q&A

Can Construction Junction tell folks about a great recycling resource... the Allegheny County Recycling Resource Directory which is available on Allegheny County's website.  The guide is several pages long and provides information on how recycle many common items.  Thanks -- Dave Mazza, Regional Director, Pennsylvania Resources Council

Dave -- Sure thing and thanks for your help with all of the recycling questions we get!  Here's a link to the Allegheny County Recycling Resource Directory.  -- Cozmo
