e-Blast

June 22- June 28, 2009

A big item

Every once in awhile we get an item that really requires more than just one thumbnail, as in the recent Arrivals below, to describe and communicate its value.  This week we have such an item and we're going to take the plunge and tell you about it here... in the opening paragraphs of this week's e-Blast.  If this strategy proves successful (meaning we sell it) then we may continue to use this method to tell you about special items on ocassion in the future.  So... here it goes.

We have a four story fire escape for sale.  it includes four flights of stairs and four landings.  The stairs are approximately 22" wide.  Six posts made of 3" angle iron make up the vertical supports.  Two of these may need to be lengthened as they were resting on an elevated concrete porch.  Eighteen 4" "C" channel makes up the horizontal framing and the unit includes all railings.  The footprint of the whole thing is approximately 148" wide by 55" deep.Landing rises are as follows" #1 at 9', #2 at 14', #3 at 19' and #4 at 24'.  Please feel free to call us at 412-243-5025 if you have any questions.  Choose the option for 'sales and inventory'.  Click on the thumbnails below to expand the photos.  That's our famous 'Chef Bill' in the last photo.  He knows everything about everything.

The CJ Buzz

Late next week we'll be receiving over 100 work surfaces and many pedestal bases for a build your own table and/or desk opportunity.  Don't want to build your own?  Alright... we'll be receiving approximately 4 - 5 complete desks as well.

Here's a flip... this week rather then sharing what we have in the pipeline we're instead looking to fill our pipeline with... soap box derby cars.  Yup you heard us correctly.  We'd like to acquire a bunch of soap box derby cars for a special event at the Steel City Big Pour.  If you have any or know of where we could get some please email our Donation Manager, Bonnie Rolison, at bonnie at constructionjunction dot org.  Thanks.

A Midsummer Night's Stream
July 18, 2009

Join the Nine Mile Run Watershed Association for its second annual neighborhood wilderness celebration!  This outdoor party provides a rare opportunity to experience the park after dark, while raising funds for NMRWA's programs of environmental stewardship and advocacy.

The event will feature food and drink from some of the best local restaurants, including Point Brugge and East End Brewing Company.  Acoustic music and a special presentation by Shakespeare in the Park's of excerpts from A Midsummer Night's Dream will highlight the evening.

Tickets are $50 before July 6 and $60 afterward... Click here to purchase tickets!

CJ asks you to post this flyer to help the word for NMRWA.

CJ Q&A

Do you have a book of what you sell?  -- Renee C.

Renee --  Construction Junction receives thousands of donations of used building materials every month.  What comes our way in these donations is as much a mystery to us as it is to you.  So... while a book of the specific items we sell doesn't really apply, a "book" of the categories of items we sell does.  We're working on creating that book as we speak.  Our goal is to make that book available to you on the Shop page of our website where you'll be able to drill down by categories and attributes so you can see a summary of what we have on hand.  -- Cozmo
