New green things
We like telling you about green things going on in Pittsburgh. One of the newer green things is The Black And Gold City Goes Green campaign.
The Black And Gold City Goes Green campaign is the action plan of the Pittsburgh Climate Initiative, working across four sectors: municipal operations, higher education, business, and the individuals that make up the Pittsburgh community.
The Initiative seeks to raise awareness and engage Pittsburgh's residents, businesses, government and institutions of higher learning in taking concrete actions that will reduce global warming pollution and its impact on our local economy and human health. View the press release from the campaign launch.

The CJ Buzz
According to Bonnie, our Donation Manager, next week is antique week at CJ. On our pick up docket... a Chambers stove, an old wood burning stove, a clawfoot tub, some tin ceiling, and a bunch of cast iron radiators. Bonnie says we'll also be traveling to an old barn that has a bunch of old stuff.

CJ Q&A
I am looking for tin ceiling tiles. I need to replace a large section at my mother's bar. My cousin suggested I contact you in the chance you may have some. The building was built in the early 1930's so obviously I am having trouble finding replacement tiles. Please let me know if you can help me. Any input would be greatly appreciated, but PLEASE don't suggest I put in a drop ceiling instead of replacing the tiles!!!! -- Marsha B.
Marsha -- Suggesting you put in a drop ceiling would never cross our lips. You'll be happy to know that we do receive tin ceiling on ocassion. About once or twice a year. It just so happens that one of those times may be very soon because we're expecting to be picking some up late next week. So keep your eyes peeled on the recent arrivals section of our website or sign up to receive our weekly e-Blast. -- Cozmo
Cozmo’s Message of the Week
Starting this Saturday, July 11, we'll be offering free heirloom tomato and specialty peppers seedlings to our customers while supplies last. Our friends and neighbors at the East End Food Coop will be doing the same. If you're a gardener and you haven't grown heirloom tomatoes... trust us... you don't know what you're missing. Even I can't resist and eat them right off the vine and I'm a dog!
