The Gadget Shed
This is The Gadget Shed in our parking lot. The Gadget Shed is a re-use and surplus materials one-of-a-kind garden storage structure built by Roger Laib Fine Carpentry.
We love this shed because it's made with materials purchased from our store including barn wood, glass block and panel doors. Be sure to check it out next time you visit. The door is unlocked so you can look it over inside and out. Features include: rainwater capture, compost bin, trellis, flower boxes and natural light.
Roger Laib is a sculptor, filmmaker, fine carpenter and environmental activist. He has exhibited his large-scale recycled-object sculptures nationally including in New York, The Painted Bride Arts Center in Philadelphia, Nexus Gallery in Philadelphia, The Museum of Art in Indianapolis, The Chicago Peer Show in Chicago and Artists Image Resource in Pittsburgh.
Laib’s current work focuses on environmental projects such as building straw-bale houses, water collection systems, sustainable home building projects and sculptures made with recycled materials. The photo to the right is of a composting toilet recently installed at a local farm.
For more information call Roger at 412-600-9796.
Do you build or make things using CJ materials? We would love to feature your products too. Send photos and descriptions to info at constructionjunction dot org. Thank you and nice work Roger!
The CJ Buzz
Construction Junction is going to have a big sale!! We need to clear out as much inventory as possible before the Steel City Big Pour on Septembeer 12th. So from September 1st to September 11th we're going to be doing something fun. For those ten days we're going to hide ten Litterbug Bobbleheads every morning through out the store. Find one and you can save 20% off your purchase when you bring it up to the register.
We'd like to thank our parent organization, the Pennsylvania Resources Council (PRC) for supplying us with these cute limited edition little fellows commissioned in honor of the Litterbug's 50th birthday. In 1952, PRC created the Litterbug character and coined the phrase "Don't Be A Litterbug."
