Press release - special promotion

But save 20% at Construction Junction if you can find one!
Construction Junction (CJ) and the Pennsylvania Resources Council (PRC) are teaming up to create a special promotion to draw attention to PRC’s 70th anniversary and CJ’s mission of reuse. Between September 1st and September 11th, Construction Junction will be hiding 10 Litterbug Bobbleheads throughout CJ’s retail space. Track down a Bobblehead, bring it to CJ’s cashier when you’re ready to check out and get 20% off your purchase.
In 1999, the Pennsylvania Resources Council supported the creation of Construction Junction. Over the last 10 years, the two organizations have partnered on hard to recycle events, backyard composting classes and vermicomposting classes in an effort to bring greater opportunities for the residents of our region and across the state to reuse and recycle.
“We thought using the Litterbug to promote our mission of reuse and our continuing connection to PRC was an effective use of this 59 year old environmental icon”, said Mike Gable, Executive Director of CJ. “Our organization will celebrate 10 years of promoting reuse and PRC has been protecting Pennsylvania’s environment and scenic beauty for 70 years. We hope this small, fun promotion will continue to draw attention to these two important milestones for both organizations” Gable said.
The Litterbug Bobbleheads could be hiding in drawers, cabinets, display cases or behind items. We're going to get creative! We do promise however that all Litterbugs... ten each day for ten days, will be accessible and within easy reach. The earlier you arrive... the greater your chances of finding a Litterbug and saving 20% off your purchase.
Remember, the first Litterbug Bobbleheads will escape onto CJ’s sales floor on Tuesday, September 1st, 2009.
The CJ Buzz
Considering our special Litterbug Bobblehead promotion explained above... it seems that the Big Buzz is the fact that will be turning over to a new month this coming Tuesday, September 1st. All of the items in this week's e-Blast have an August price tag and come Tuesday, if they're still around, will be 10% off. Combine this with the possibility of saving another 20% if you find a Litterbug Bobblehead and the potential savings can really add up.

Furniture Recycling Program
August 28, 2009THE 4TH ANNUAL OAKLAND FURNITURE SALE!
We have a wide variety of furniture to sell this year, including: couches, tables, chairs, desks, bookshelves, nightstands, endtables, kitchenette sets, lamps and more!
All of the furniture available at the sale was donated by students, neighbors, community partners, local institutions, property owners, and even 1-800-GOTJUNK!
Oakland Planning and Development Corporation (OPDC) launched our Furniture Recycling Program in April 2006. OPDC collects and stores used furniture and then hosts a resale event at the end of August where these items are resold to the community at costs that are reasonable. The goal is to keep reusable furniture items off of the streets and out of dumpsters and landfills.
For more information, please contact Brandon, our Furniture Recycling Program Coordinator, at brandond at opdc dot org.
