From our Operations Director
Happy New Year!
2009 was an incredibly successful year for Construction Junction... the best in our 10 year history. We're looking forward to an even better 2010. From an inventory perspective... it's always interesting to see what cool, fun and unique items find their way to our facility. Your continued and growing support of our organization is greatly appreciated and incredibly exciting! We'll be sure to keep doing our part... in the meanwhile, here's a quick refresher on our donation process.
- CJ accepts donations seven days a week during our regular business hours…. yes, even on Sundays during football season!
- Check our website for general material acceptance guidelines and if you have questions about specific items, call ahead and talk to one of our warehouse staff.
- If you have a large quantity of materials to donate, we have a friendly free pick-up service available. Your neighbors will be jealous of our nice truck coming to your house. Contact Bonnie at 412-243-5025 ext. 12 or bonnie at constructionjunction dot org for more information.
For your donation, we will provide you with a receipt for tax purposes... and friendly service as always!
Encourage your friends, family, neighbors, colleagues, employers, community groups, alien friends from other planets, etc. to consider donating to CJ! We exist to find new homes for all of the stuff you donate. Conversely, we also know that you love all of the great things that you find here. The more we get and re-home the happier all of us and the planet will be!
We look forward to seeing you 2010! Happy donating and shopping!

The CJ Buzz
When it rains it pours and this week it's not raining men but rather an endless amount of double sided racks and bookshelves, oodles of small and large tables, a plethora of turning and table display racks, and a host of low octagon shaped display units.
The double sided racks and bookshelves are 4' - 6' high and 7' - 14' long with slat boards on the ends. The small and large tables are made out of wood and some have turned legs. The octagon display units are about 4' wide and have tiers, shelves and slat board.

Free firewood
The staff at CJ has started stock piling pallets that we can't make use of so that someone else can make use of them as firewood. Please help yourself to as many of these pallets as you'd like. Please click on the "read more" for a photo... and here's to the beauty of use and reuse.

With respect to your e-waste recycling program - do you take audio cassette tapes? Is so, what is the fee and what happens to the plastic cases? -- Elaine
Elaine -- We had this same question and while back and looked to our readers for the answer on where folks can recycle tape media. Since then however, we've realized (silly us) that our e-waste recycler does indeed accept audio cassette tapes. The plastic cases will get recycled along with all of the other plastics (CPU cases, keyboards, etc.) they recycle. The cost is .25 cents per tape. Hope this helps. -- Cozmo
