Cozmo's snowed in

A message from Cozmo...

Construction Junction had to close last Saturday, February 6th because of the snow storm but we've been open every day since.  Naturally, we haven't been very busy but luckily for all of us... the roads are starting to clear.

Several people, making the wise decision to forego driving, called and purchased recent arrivals listed below over the phone.  After that happened it occurred to us that we ought to make sure every knows about that option.  If you see something you like on our website, but can't make it over to the store for whatever reason, please know that you can always purchase an item over the phone with a credit card.

We'll tag the item as sold and you'll have seven days to pick it up.  All pertinent discounts will apply.  So let nothing... not snow, rain, sleet or hail, come between you and your commitment to reuse!

The CJ Buzz

This weekend, February 12 - 14, our neighbor, Dargate Auction Gallery, will be having an auction.  Parking is often a challenge on weekends due to regular customer traffic and popularity of the City's recycling center in our parking lot (closed till Monday 2/15).  But when Dargate has an auction it gets really crowded.  Given the massive piles of snow everywhere, we're asking all customers to make use of the parking area on the north side of our building and the large lot adjacent to Construction Junction on Meade Street.  Access these two parking areas at the intersection of N. Lexington Street and Thomas Boulevard.  Thanks.

Global Links collection for Haiti

From now until February 15th, Construction Junction is partnering with Global Links Haiti Relief Effort as a drop-off site for gently used canes, crutches, foldable walkers and non-motorized wheelchairs.

All donations will be sent by Pittsburgh-based medical relief agency Global Links to their partners in Haiti, where there is urgent need for these items due to the large numbers of patients with broken or amputated limbs.  Global Links is mobilizing to collect hundreds of these items immediately.

Items can be dropped off at Construction Junction anytime during our regular business hours.  All items donated should be clean and in good condition with no broken parts.

CJ Q&A

I live on the San Francisco peninsula.  Do you have an outlet or resources in the Bay Area?  I'm looking for glass inserts for kitchen cabinet doors and glass (or decorative sheets of glass or plastic) to use as a room divider.  Saw your listing in Better Homes & Gardens.  Thank you.  -- Rosemary

Rosemary  -- Thanks for contacting us all the way from San Francisco!  Before we get to your question... we're very interested to know where you saw us in Better Homes & Gardens.  Was there a particular article or resource list?

There are hundreds of reuse centers across the country like CJ.  Some are for profits and many are non profits.  You could 'Google' reuse centers or salvage centers in San Francisco and you'll see a good listing as San Francisco has at least a dozen such stores.  Also, the Building Material Reuse Association maintains a good directory on their website and you can search by state.  Go to www.bmra.org to check it out.  Some of the stores we know about in the San Francisco area include Building Resources, Ohmega Salvage, Urban Ore, The ReUse People and Whole House Building Supply.

Hope this helps.  -- Cozmo
