Don't trash that TV recycling event!
February 21, 2009
Time: 10AM - 2PM
Location: Construction Junction
On Saturday, February 21st, from 10:00 am - 2:00 pm, drop off your old television at Construction Junction for recycling and keep it out of the landfill.
Televisions will also be accepted at the City of Pittsburgh Environmental Services Facility, 3001 Railroad Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15201 (in the Strip District).
This day only in CJ's parking lot... take advantage of reduced TV recycling rates due to a generous grant from Waste Management that will offset some of the recycling cost to the public. All other e-waste should be brought inside for recycling.
Brought to you by the Pennsylvania Resources Council (PRC) with support from Waste Management and the City of Pittsburgh.
Participant fees are as follows:
TVs 19” & smaller $10 each
TVs 20” – 29” $20 each
TVs 30” – 39” $25 each
TVs 40” & larger $35 each
For more information or to volunteer visit, www.prc.org or call 412.488.7490 ext 236.
With the upcoming digital switchover looming, more and more people are trading in their old TVs for new ones and the Pennsylvania Resources Council wants to ensure that the public has an environmentally and socially responsible method to dispose of their old TVs. PRC will be working with local electronics recycler eLoop llc to recycle the TVs. eLoop llc has signed on to the Basel Action Network’s E-stewards pledge, stating that they will not dispose of any electronic materials in a landfill or ship it overseas. All materials collected will be recycled or refurbished.
