Recycle Rama

Time: 10 am to 1 pm
Location: Hampton High School parking lot & cafeteria

Hampton Township School District presents The Second Annual Recycle Rama.  Many kinds of items will be collected inside and outside.  Information on recycling opportunities in Allegheny County, tables from various businesses and organizations in Hampton and refreshments will be available as well.  For questions, call Danelle Jameson at 412-487-0752.

Items to be collected outside:

  • Computers
  • Laptops – to be donated for use in local VA hospitals and by American Troops overseas
  • Televisions – ELOOP will charge $15 - $50 to take them, depending on the size of the TV
  • Cell phones, printer cartridges, rechargeable batteries (2 pounds or less) – no car batteries
  • Construction materials – collected by Construction Junction, these must be in useable condition and suitable for use in a home project
  • Appliances and scrap metal – Fitzsimmons Metals will process and the money will be donated to the upkeep of the Veterans Memorial
  • Plastic grocery bags – for each bag of plastic bags, you will receive a reusable grocery tote
  • Paper
  • Cardboard
  • Clothing – will be collected by the Salvation Army
  • Coats – for Project Bundle Up
  • Towels and blankets – the Central Elementary Kids Care Club will collect these an donate them to All Pet Animal Hospital to be given to a local shelter

Items to be collected inside:

  • Used Booksno text books, magazines, ex-library books, or encyclopedias , collected by Cub Scout Pack 195 and Boy Scout Troop 195 to be donated to the North Hills Youth Ministry Counseling Center for their used book sale. Contact Jim Vasil at jvasil@verizon.net with questions.
  • Hampton athletic uniforms, spiritwear, and sports equipment – sponsored by Girl Scout Troop 198. Any reusable uniforms such as those from the Hampton Soccer club, Hampton t-shirts and sweatshirts, athletic equipment such as bats, helmets, cleats, ballet shoes, dance and gymnastics leotards, etc. Must be clean and in useable condition. Will be collected at all Hampton elementary schools, Hampton Middle School, the Community Center and on the day of Recycle Rama. Bring a canned good to donate for NHCO Food Bank and take home an item.
  • Business Attire – both men’s and womens, to be donated to Treasure House, sponsored by Girl Scout Troop 237
  • Prom and bridesmaid dresses – to be donated to Treasure House, sponsored by Girl Scout Troop 313
