Global Links collection for Haiti
From now until February 15th, Construction Junction is partnering with Global Links Haiti Relief Effort as a drop-off site for gently used canes, crutches, foldable walkers and non-motorized wheelchairs.
All donations will be sent by Pittsburgh-based medical relief agency Global Links to their partners in Haiti, where there is urgent need for these items due to the large numbers of patients with broken or amputated limbs. Global Links is mobilizing to collect hundreds of these items immediately.
Items can be dropped off at Construction Junction anytime during our regular business hours. All items donated should be clean and in good condition with no broken parts.
"Construction Junction is proud to partner with Global Links in meeting the critical need for canes, crutches, walkers and wheelchairs in Haiti,” says CJ Executive Director, Michael Gable. “Our organizational missions are very similiar in that we both work to divert used materials and supplies and this is a wonderful opportunity for us to contribute and help others to contribute to the relief efforts to this disaster. Everyone at CJ is eager to be a part of the effort.”
Working directly with the staff of Hopital Albert Schweitzer and a team of more than 400 physicans in Haiti, Global Links is responding to the specific needs of workers on the frontlines of this disaster through regular shipments of medical and surgical supplies, medicines and durable medical goods. Global Links has more than 20 years experience in international medical relief and has worked in Haiti since 1996.
