Someone asked TDY the other day, “If you’ve already tried most of the beer, why do you go to brewfests?”.  I thought that this was a pretty intriguing question.  Why do we love brewfests so much?  The Steel City Big Pour provided a lot of answers…  There weren’t too many beers that were new to TDY, but the atmosphere was fantastic with great food (not necessary for a good brewfest, but doesn’t hurt), art and music, and of course a great selection of brews.  Once you have been to a really great brewfest, you no longer ask that question.

Wow!  What a great time!  The Big Pour Four knocked it out of the ballpark further then Sidney Crosby ever could.  This was TDY’s first trip to the Big Pour since moving back to town.  Mixed emotions confronted us leading up to Saturday.  All the hype surrounding the event got us excited, and it seemed liked the rest of Pittsburgh was along for the ride.

I know, it’s not hump day so I had to add one but for good reason! Today we released the audio and pictures from the Steel City Big Pour which took place last weekend. Over in this space I’m going to give you a recap that you won’t hear on SIDT.

This past weekend Construction Junction held another successful event! The 2nd Annual Steel City Big Pour was three hours of beer, live art and music. Over 2,000 people enjoyed the afternoon between the two sessions that included 28 brewers, 22 restaurant and food vendors, demonstrations by chainsaw and glass artists and the extremely popular kegerator art.

Yesterday was the 2nd annual Steel City Big Pour, "3 hours of beer, live art, and music" to benefit Construction Junction, Pittsburgh's nonprofit building material recycler. This year there were two 3-hour sessions, both of which were sold out at 1,000 tickets each - it was the hot ticket in town yesterday!

Oh damn I’ve been waiting to blog about this. My week has been swamped since I finish up classes for this semester on Saturday. Enough excuses, time for the review!

SIDT takes on 3 Hours of Beer, Live Art and Music… but mostly beer!

Yesterday was the much anticipated 1st annual Steel City Big Pour  at Construction Junction, located in Pittsburgh's North Point Breeze neighborhood. With your choice of two sessions (12-3pm and 5-8pm), it was an incredible festival of beer, food, music, and art. And if you ask me, it was worth every cent of the $30 entry fee. The second one had sold out, so we were lucky we got tickets in advance.
