We're always looking for ways to enhance your experience and safety.  In 2013 we want to make it EASY to drink but not drive.  You can select a Designated Driver ticket if one of your party is willing, or you can take advantage of our new collaboration with PA Brew Tours which offers you the chance to book the Big Pour bus service of your choice when purchasing your Big Pour tickets or at a later date up to one week before the event.

Bus Service for Big Pour Ticket Holders

PA Brew Tours is offering round trip transport for Big Pour ticket holders from certain locations to the Big Pour.

  • For Session 1 you can select bus transport that will depart and return from a Pittsburgh neighborhood.
  • For Session 2 you can choose between a neighborhood bus service or bus service from a restaurant offering an event on your return from the Big Pour.

Patrons arriving by PA Brew Tours bus services will line up at a designated event entrance for bus ticket holders only.  We anticipate that this will speed up entrance to the event for everyone!!  Here's what's on offer from PA Brew Tours:

 

Neighborhood Package: Session 1 - Ticket cost $25

Round trip bus service from/to ONE of THREE neighborhood locations.  Bus departs at 11:15 am PROMPTLY (45 minutes before event).  There's no limit on the number of bus tickets available. Click here to purchase your bus tickets.  **Please note - Bus Tickets DO NOT include event admission.

  • Shadyside: outside Harris Grill, 5747 Ellsworth Ave, Pittsburgh, 15232

  • Highland Park: outside Park Brugge, 5801 Bryant St, Pittsburgh, 15206

  • Squirrel Hill: at the intersection of Forbes and Murray avenues

Neighborhood Package: Session 2 - Ticket cost $25

Round trip bus service from/to ONE of THREE neighborhood locations.  Bus departs at 4:15 pm PROMPTLY (45 minutes before event).  There's no limit on the number of bus tickets available. Click here to purchase your bustickets.  **Please note - Bus Tickets DO NOT include event admission.

Restaurant Package: Session 2 - Ticket cost $40 (includes $15 coupon)

Round trip bus service from/to ONE of THREE restaurant/bar locations offering a post Big Pour event.  Bus departs from the restaurant/bar at 3:45 pm PROMPTLY (1 hour and 15 minutes before event).  Registration begins at 1:45 pm.  Ticket price includes a $15 coupon to spend at the restaurant/bar when you return.  Space is limited to 48 people for each location.  Click here to purchase your bus tickets.  **Please note - Bus Tickets DO NOT include event admission.

  • South Side: Carson St Deli and Craft Beer House

  • Monaca: Bocktown Beer and Grill - Beaver Valley Mall location

  • New Kensington: House of 1000 Beers

All pick up and drop off locations will be labeled with a large sign and buses will have placards.  PA Brew Tours will check ID's to confirm registration when entering the bus.  At the end of your Big Pour session you'll exit the same way you came in and your bus will be waiting to take you back to your original pick up location.

Several bus routes come within a block of Construction Junction: 67 Monroeville, 74 Homewood-Squirrel Hill, 71C Point Breeze. Also, CJ is within a healthy 10-20 minute walk of these bus routes: the East Busway, 61A Wilkinsburgh via Forbes Ave, 61B Braddock/Swissvale. PLEASE NOTE - some of the bus routes have been renamed since we made our map - the 67A is now the 67, the 74A is now the 74, and the EBA, EBS and EBO are now the P1, P2, and P3.

 

Getting to the Big Pour by bicycle or car

By bicycle

 

We provide a bike rack within the parking lot for bike storage - just lock up your bike and go join the line for the entrance.

 
By car, taxi or limo

 

From Route 28

  • Follow Route 28 to the Highland Park Bridge. 
  • When crossing the Highland Park Bridge, stay in the left lane and follow signs for Washington Blvd/South 8.
  • After bridge exit ramp, stay in right lane and travel 4/10ths of a mile to the first traffic light and turn right, staying on Washington Blvd/South 8.
  • Travel about 2 miles on Washington Blvd.  Go straight at the light with Hamilton Ave, pass under a bridge and one set of lights at McPherson, then turn left onto Thomas Blvd. (If you get to Penn Avenue you missed it, make a left on Penn and another left on Linden Street and make a right onto Thomas Blvd.) Travel about six (6) city blocks and you will arrive at a Stop sign at a T-junction with North Lexington Street.
  • Turn right onto North Lexington Street past Constrution Junction and then make a left at the first stop sign, onto Meade Street for access to a large parking lot which will be on the left after you turn onto Meade St.

Coming from the east/Monroeville on the Parkway/376

  • Follow the Parkway to the Edgewood/Swissvale exit 77, take the right lane and make a right onto Braddock Ave at the end of the exit ramp. 
  • Follow South Braddock Ave through Regent Square and cross over Forbes Ave. Take the right lane at the light with  Penn Ave and go straight across and immediately take the left lane to go left at the light with Meade Street.
  • On Meade Street, pass the East End Food Co-op and a short distance after that you'll see the access to a large parking lot on the right.

Coming from the west/downtow on the Parkway/376

  • Follow the Parkway to the Edgewood/Swissvale exit 77 (right after you go through the Squirrel Hill tunnel). Stay left on the exit ramp until you come to a stop sign (ignore the Edgewood and Swissvale exists from the ramp). Ignore the sharp right and go center right -  up the hill - onto South Braddock Ave. 
  • Follow South Braddock Ave through Regent Square and cross over Forbes Ave. Take the right lane at the light with  Penn Ave and go straight across and immediately take the left lane to go left at the light with Meade Street.
  • On Meade Street, pass the East End Food Co-op and a short distance after that you'll see the access to a large parking lot on the right.
