For the safest Big Pour experience—let someone else do the driving!

We're always looking for ways to enhance your experience and safety.  In 2014 we want to make it EASY to drink and not drive.  You can select a Designated Driver ticket if one of your party is willing (your maximum ticket purchase will still be 4, including the DD ticket), or you can take advantage of the services of the many transportation companies—public and private— around Pittsburgh. Below we have collected information on companies who have let us know they can offer services to Big Pour patrons, and on relevant Port Authority services. (Driving Directions are here) (Taxi and transportations companies, please email us to be included.)

Pear Transportation

We offer 2 services at The Pear.

  1. Our standard Pear Designated Driver Service. We send a pair of drivers in one of our cars to meet you at your car at the end of your night. One of our drivers gets out, gets into your car and drives you and your guests home safely while our car follows. Charge for this service is $20 flat service charge + $2.50 per mile travel (possible additions for any location(s) traveled to that are outside of our normal serving area). This service is only available on Friday and Saturday nights.
  2. Our Personal Pear Chauffeur Service. We send one driver to meet you at your home (or place where the car will end up at the end of your evening) and our driver leaves his car at that location so he can drive you and your guests around in your car wherever you'd like to go throughout the night. At the conclusion of your night, our driver returns you to the original location safely, gets back into his car and returns to our office. Charge for this service is a flat rate of $25 per hour used from the time our driver meets you to the time he returns you back to the original location (minimum of 3 hours required). This service is available any day of the week, we just ask for a little advanced notice to secure a driver if during the week
