Restaurant's Creative Reuse Award
We're at it again... twisting up something new for this year's Big Pour Four.
In the spirit of Construction Junction and its mission as the impetus for the Big Pour, we are pleased to announce the Second Annual Creative Reuse Award. Last we focused on Brewers... this year we're going to switch things up a bit and focus on our Food Partners. The intention of this award is to honor those food partners that have gone the extra mile towards reducing their impact on the environment and giving back to the community.
We are particularly interested in how our Food Partners have advanced the idea of reuse by adapting and/or reusing anything, including buildings, vehicles, equipment, rubbish, and even people. We also have asked Food Partners to highlight their achievements in the following categories:
- Energy Efficiency (including utilizing renewable energy resources)
- Product Packaging
- Ingredients & Other Purchasing (including local purchasing)
- Solid & Liquid Waste Management Practices (including waste minimization, diversion and recycling)
- Water Consumption (including conservation practices)
- Vehicles & Transportation
- Building Performance (including reuse)
- Community Service & Support
- Special Programs/Unique Innovations
Food Partners are allowed to submit photos, blog entries, youTube videos, Facebook pages, etc. in addition to written submissions. We want applicants to have fun and express their creativity.
The deadline for entry hasn't been set yet but will be some time in July. A panel of esteemed judges will review the applications and determine the winner. Winners will be announced when tickets go on sale August 2, 2010 with a press release and publication below. Awards will be presented the day of the event about halfway through the first and second session.
